Sabrina Maria’s musical journey began in the enchanting days of her youth, singing in school choirs and belting out solos on stage. However, life’s unpredictable twists led her away from music until a series of heart-wrenching events shook her world.
In the midst of her mother’s serious illness and her father’s rapid decline due to a genetic disease, Sabrina found herself navigating the harsh realities of loss. Two weeks before her mother’s passing, her relationship abruptly ended, and she had to leave a job she’d held for seven years. Struggling with the weight of her emotions, Sabrina discovered solace in an unexpected place – her dusty guitar.
As she gently cleaned off the layers of neglect from her guitar, Sabrina rekindled her connection with music. Playing chords of her favorite teenage tunes, she rediscovered the joy that singing brought her. Each strum of the guitar became a form of therapy, a way to convey the emotions that words couldn’t capture during those challenging times.
By December 2016, 3 months after the passing of her mother and other losses, Sabrina had transformed her pain into art, with a complete album of original songs. Music became her sanctuary, a healing force that allowed her to express the inexpressible. Have you ever found refuge in something when words failed you in tough times?
Immersing herself in the soothing lyrics of Country Music, Sabrina also embraced the empowering spirit of Rock. Her debut album, ‘Blank Canvas,’ reflects this eclectic mix, offering not just inspiration but a powerful blend of emotions.
She has most recently dedicated her time to writing more songs for The Lord as she says she could not have gotten through the challenges of these past years without His constant guidance and presence.
In Sabrina’s own words, “Life may throw stinging darts, but we can turn them into expressions of our core being. My core is music and my deepened faith! We all possess a gift; a core and must nurture it. Ignoring it may lead life to push us forcefully, by stripping away our distractions.”
